Description
Arrêt Buffatte takes its name from a plot running alongside the ancient Roman road linking Paris to Clermont-Ferrand — once a coaching halt where travellers stopped to eat and rest. Today it is one of Pouilly's finest sites: a geological amphitheatre at the top of the slopes overlooking the Loire, south-west facing, on Kimmeridgian marl soils. Traditional vinification in thermo-regulated stainless-steel tanks, aged on fine lees, with late bottling to maximise natural roundness. Reserved in youth, it reveals its full complexity after 3 to 4 years — and rewards patience for up to a decade.
